Chris Zigment

Background:

Chris was born and raised in New York where she graduated from the University of the State of New York with B. A. in English Literature.

Her duties as an Air Force wife took her all over the country and included a seven year stay in Germany as well. While overseas, Chris was a substitute teacher as well as a kindergarten aide.  Upon returning to the States, she returned to school and earned her teaching license from UCCS.  She was a substitute teacher for two years before coming to Pauline Memorial as a part-time kindergarten teacher.  In 1997, she developed the all day kindergarten program to increase the amount of teachable time and minimize stress while still allowing for a developmentally appropriate kindergarten program with a hands-on philosophy.
Her great love of reading led her to earn her Masters Degree in Reading and Literacy from Walden University in 2003. Her husband, Len, retired after 24 years in the Air Force and is currently a high school math teacher. They have been married for over 35 years. They have four grown children, one grandchild and a dog named Brandy.
