  • Welcome/Opening Prayer

This meeting was called to order at 8:15 a.m.  Sign-in roster is at Attachment A; 7 members were
present.

The meeting began with an opening Prayer.

  •  Meeting Minutes/Approval

Copies of the February meeting minutes were passed around and reviewed.

Donna Tamas moved that we accept the February 11, 2008 minutes.  Nichole Munoz seconded the motion.  All were in favor, none opposed.  (Meeting Minutes are posted on the PTO website.  Hard copy will be kept in PTO Secretary Continuity Book.)

  • Treasury Report

    • Profit and Loss Statement

Jeanne Cichon, PTO Treasurer, reviewed the current budget documentation.  (See Attachment B.)

  • The second Lenten Soup Meal on March 7 went well.  We probably made more than the first one on February 8.  The total is off a little, because there are still some expenses coming in. Jeanne will have final total at the next PTO Meeting.

  • Book Fair did well. We do not have the totals yet from the company.  We hope to make about $1000.  No expenses have been paid yet including the cost of the books to Once Upon A Mind company.

B.            Funding Requests:

  • Shannon Boyd is asking for a display board for the art show.  This could also be used not only by her but other classes as well.  The display board she is looking at is on wheels and is accordion file so this could be easily stored and moved. It is 6ft in height. The board is made out of Teflon fabric and is sound absorbent and can use tacks to hang artwork.  She would like to purchase two five-panel boards.  The cost for two display boards would be $921/each plus $73/each for shipping.

Kelly Edwards moved that we approve the display board for the Art room.  Mary Simmons seconded the motion.  All were in favor, none opposed. The total approved for two five-panel boards is going to be $1988.00. This total includes shipping.

  • PTO was asked to fund some office training classes for the front office staff as well as the lunchroom staff.  The cost for one is between $99/each up to $129/each.  We would have to pay for a total of four classes.

Kelly Edwards moved that we approve the four classes for the office and lunchroom staff.  Nichole Munoz seconded the motion.  All were in favor, none opposed.  Total approved was $129.00 x 4 = $516.

  • Larry Dorsey-Spitz is asking if PTO would cover the remaining balance of a Science advance program.  The amount would be up to $2400.00.

Kelly Edwards moved to approve the remaining balance of $2400.00.  Donna Tamas seconded the motion.  All were in favor; none opposed.

  • New Business

A.    Sarah Introduced Laura Tuel who is the Director of Education for Catamount Institute.  She talked
to the PTO members about the different educational programs that they offer.  The discussion was
left open.

B.    Pre School
We have not heard any news about the building.  Jeanne Cichon will be talking to Linda and will get back to this.  This discussion was left open.

  • PTO Events Review/Update

A.    Lenten Soup Night
Went well!  There were a lot more families from the school than the first Lenten
Soup Night.  Jan Rickey would like to do only one soup night next year. Great job Jan!

B.    Book Fair
This event went great!  $1,000.00 could be the profit after the books are paid for.
Thank you Donna!

C.    Golf Tournament
PTO will be meeting with Bob Yoswa.

D.    Sock Hop
The Sock Hop will be done next year with Catholic Schools Week. This would be a great way to kick off the week.
