St. Paul’s/PMCS PTO 2008-2009
Meeting Minutes
November 10, 2008 6:00pm

I.          Opening Prayer

Jeanne Cichon opened the meeting with prayer.

II.         Taste and Traditions in Review

Jeanne wanted to combine the discussion on Tastes & Traditions with the Treasury Report, as
they are so closely linked at this time.  (See Section III, Treasury Report.)

III.       Treasury Report (Jeanne Cichon, PTO Treasurer)

            A.        Jeanne reviewed the Profit/Loss statement.  (See Attachment A.)

                        Tastes

Stefanecs/McCartys donated beer/wine for event.  THANK YOU!

We came out negative on the casino, and there were mixed reviews about it.  Most liked
                        the gambling.

A recommendation was made that the silent auction needed to have some less expensive
items to bid on.  As well, it was recommended that we do “read aheads” on silent auction
items.  This would afford people an opportunity to learn about the items beforehand.

Next year, start planning in March.  Incorporate corporate sponsors.  Have it be more
                        inclusive; more Church community participation.

                        Other

Spirit shirts are in.  A suggestion was made to have t-shirt available to Grandparents’
                        Day.

7th/8th grade uniforms should arrive next week or just after.  The 5th/6th grade uniforms
                        haven’t been ordered yet.

            B.         Funding Requests

Blinds - $2,550 for the middle school.
A motion was made by Shelia Evans to pay for the blinds for the middle school.  It was
seconded by Donna Tamas.  Motion carried.

V.        Fr. Bob Jaeger Report

Fr. Bob had a family emergency and was unable to attend.  Fr. Andrjez and Mr. Price attended in
            his stead.

VI.       Principal’s Report

            See Attachment B.

There was lengthy discussion about the new drop-off/pick-up times.  Larry sent out a note that mentioned that there would be new pick-up times, beginning Monday, 17 NOV.  The new pick-up times are:  Monday-Thursday 3:15 p.m. and Friday 2:25 p.m.  These changes were due to middle school scheduling conflicts.  This is being reviewed and Larry will put out the necessary information in Thursday Folders.

There was concern about childcare arrangements, since the times were changed during mid-semester.  A cost-free solution will be looked at this week.

A suggestion was made to have a parents’ forum for feedback.  Corpus Christi does K-2, 3-5th, and 6-8th parents’ forums once per quarter.  Larry will look into.

A suggestion was made to have Suzanne sent out a note to Room Moms asking who might have a challenge with the change in pick-up times.
